We are located in one of the most coveted places in the lake mountains where nature, enchanting in all its wonderful facets, is the protagonist.
More than fifty years of service that with its typical and homemade cuisine has accompanied and delighted multiple mountain lovers, locals, tourists and sportsmen.
The “Muro di Sormano” is a climb known among cycling fans for its difficulty (famous because it is included in the route of the Giro di Lombardia). At the end, the Muro road rejoins the provincial road and continues on to reach the locality la Colma di Sormano, at an altitude of 1124 m above sea level, where the road crosses and continues downhill to Pian del Tivano to pass through Zelbio and then end in Nesso, on the western branch of Lake Como.
The facility is easily accessible and in different ways: by car or motorcycle having also the good fortune to admire wonderful views of the lake, on foot or mountain bike along the many paths that connect the mountains or road bike.
Here one breathes healthy air and the true essence of the landscape. Immersed in silence one is overwhelmed by multiple and unique scenery, depending on the seasons, where it is the mountains themselves that paint enchanting pictures.
A very short path leads to the planetary observatory, a real gem that makes this setting even more fascinating; it is distinguished for being one of the few centers in Italy and in Lombardy.
Opened on June 15, 2025, it is equipped with a modern telescope and a dome that allows optimized observations, overcoming the problems related to light pollution. The planetarium offers immersive shows thanks to a 4K digital projector and a large dome. In addition to scientific research, the observatory conducts intensive outreach activities aimed at schools, enthusiasts and the general public.
The restaurant has the typical features of a mountain farmhouse: made entirely of moltrasio stone and furnished with wooden furniture and very warm colors.
There is an outdoor area equipped with tables and umbrellas, part of which is covered by a removable structure (accommodates 100 covers).
As you enter, there is a long, inviting counter and bar area that seats 10. There are two rooms designated for dining, one with a warm wood-burning fireplace that seats 30, and one with wooden beams and furnished with typical mountain tools and utensils that seats 55. All tables are made of solid wood. The rooms are bright with pretty windows overlooking flowers and mountains outside.
The large, bright kitchen is equipped with every essential accessory.
There is also a room dedicated to cold storage.
There is a bathroom for the disabled, and a dedicated men's and women's bathroom.
On the upper floor there are rooms, bathrooms and changing rooms for staff.
There is plenty of paid parking in the immediate vicinity; however, the restaurant has a parking lot for the exclusive use of customers. In front of the entrance there is also a dedicated area for bicycles.
Behind the building there is a structure used as a farm with stables, tools and machinery necessary for running the farm.
